Graphic designer Victor Chaita was allegedly contracted to design the Ufic 2014 magazine for $1 500 in a deal that went sour.

According to Chaita’s lawyer, Norman Mugiya of Mugiya and Macharaga Law Firm, the graphic designer demanded his payment upon completion of the work but Ufic gave endless and irrational excuses in order to avoid paying the due amount.

In a letter of payment demand, Mugiya accused Ufic of reneging on the contract and instead used his client’s design work to produce the church’s 2014 magazine edition.

“We have been advised that you later pretended as if you did not like the graphic designer’s work yet you took the concept and decided to use it as yours and you are now selling our client’s work as yours for the 2014 edition of the Ufic family magazine (sic),” wrote Mugiya.

Chaita, through Mugiya, threatened to take Ufic to court unless Makandiwa pays the outstanding $1 500.

“We have been instructed to demand, as we hereby do, that you pay $1500 through our offices failure of which we will cause summons to be issued to you before further notice. Failure of that we will also demand that you pay 5% collection commission plus interest at the prescribed rate,” wrote Mugiya. The Zimbabwe Mail , , ,
