COP ACTION RUINS HIJACKERS’ PLANS

RESIDENTS gave cops a round of applause when they bust thugs in a hijacked car.
On Monday, members of the Gauteng flying squad were on patrol in Thokoza, Ekurhuleni.
They heard on their radio that a VW Golf had been hijacked nearby.
They spotted the Golf and gave chase.
Sergeant Welcome Simawu said the car was cornered on Nkakhi Street.
Three suspects were arrested. An unlicensed firearm with seven bullets were found in the car.
Simawu said: “A woman had apparently left her car outside her house to open the gate and garage door.
“She was confronted by three armed men who demanded her car keys. The men then sped off in her white Golf.”
The suspects have been charged with possession of a suspected stolen car, car hijacking and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Themba Malinga (47), who witnessed the arrests, said: “These thugs think they can do as they please, robbing people of their cars. But look at them lying with their faces in the dirt now.”DailySun
