Local dance hall artist Obey Makamure, affectionately known as Tocky Vibes, has come under fire from actors whom he hired for the production of a video for his hit song “Mhai”.

The actors accuse Tocky of exploiting them after the artist failed to pay them anything for the services they rendered.
He could be topping the charts after churning out several hit songs, but those who have worked with Tocky in the production of the artist’s musical videos allege he has no heart.

Affectionately known as “Mai Gringo”, the woman featured in the popular video “Mhai” Susan Matara claims she has not received any payment from the dance hall musician and accuses him of exploiting other people. Another actor who featured in the video Ronnie Kapeta who also starred in the local drama “Tiriparwendo” claims he incurred extra costs as he had to hire someone to take his place at his job after being duped by Tocky.

The man who was hired by Tocky to transport the actors Edmore Chikowore is also bitter. Instead of getting payment for the use of his truck, he has been left in debt after his truck got damaged. He also claims he has not received anything from the dance hall artist. Contacted by the ZBC News for a comment, Tocky referred all questions to his manager Elvis Bokosha. Bokosha, however, told the ZBC News he could not comment on the issue.
