TRAFFIC Safety Council of Zimbabwe Road safety ambassadors Pastor Charles and wife Olivia Charamba have sent their condolences to the families that lost relatives in the Harare-Nyamapanda Road bus disaster. The accident claimed 26 lives after the collision of Zupco and Pioneer buses. "We are deeply saddened by the continued loss of lives on our roads. Our condolences to the families that lost their beloved ones," said Pastor Charamba. Pastor Charamba said as ambassadors they urge families to travel separately as a way to minimize loss of lives from same families. "We encourage
members of the same family to travel separately. "Circumstances may force families to travel in numbers but it is always encouraged to avoid
moving in large numbers to avoid huge losses in a family. Records have shown that several families lose a number of loved ones by moving in large numbers,"
he said.
The revered musician said they will continue lobbying the government to speed up the widening of the country's major high-ways. Pastor Charamba urged the public to avoid doing things at the last minute to avoid speeding. "Most people are now doing things hurriedly, and that prompts speeding. Reports from the accident indicated that the accident was due to speeding. "You will find that people now want to do things that usually lasted days in a flash and that leads to speeding. That even applies to drivers who want to complete tar-get assignments in a day," he said. "Let us stop doing things in a rush. "We are very sorry to the families," he said.
