RAPPER Cal_Vin shocked and stunned fans yesterday as he went on a tirade after reportedly losing a close family member, insulting God and Jesus and daring them to take his life if they were real, on his Facebook page.
According to a friend and fellow rapper AWA, Cal_Vin had lost a close relative through death.
“We talked on the phone, he was in so much pain, all he said was that he lost a close family member.”
In a series of messages on his Facebook timeline, Mgcini Calvin Nhliziyo – That Luveve Boy – called himself a fallen angel, compared Jesus to Santa Claus, boldly declaring if he was real he would take his life.
“I regret giving Jesus props when all he did was give me pain, this time I’m done acting stupid, do something, prove to people you alive by taking my life f*** boi,” he ranted.
After the post, people, including this reporter, inundated him with calls to find out what was going on, but the rapper would reject the calls and thereafter posted: “Stop calling my phones, I’m not taking any calls.”
Cal_Vin, who was once a Christian rapper named Church Boi, later continued his tirade: “F*** changing, let’s continue with the F***y of life.” This was in an apparent reference to his December track Changes that features up and coming female singer Latora, where he sang about turning a new leaf and changing his partying ways.
He even shared videos and pictures of himself attending church services towards the end of last year and the beginning of this one. The change seems to be out the window as according to him: “Jesus is a myth, I’m Sorry.”
This rant comes exactly a week after Stunner’s wife Olinda sensationally called out the rapper for being a cheat, and threatened to commit suicide via Facebook Live. The next day Cal_Vin posted: “When the Stunner smoke dies down imma (sic) put you on to my good news, I need undivided attention.”
Some of his friends suggested the outburst was just a publicity stunt to promote new music to which Cal_Vin responded with two posts: “Niggas be like this is a publicity stunt, niggas I’m way too talented for a publicity stunt, that’s you following me already, why will I wait till I have 5k friends to pull a stunt, f*** a outta here.”
Whether it is an ongoing publicity stunt or genuine feelings or rapper Cal_Vin’s cellphone was hacked, the Zikhuphani hit maker’s sentiments have not settled well with fans and friends.
Asanda Nester Ladyheart posted: “Just one day disappointment and you insulting Jesus my man you going too far I respected you but you prove not to b man enough to face your problems #grow up Jesus isn’t something u can mess with.”
Another Nozithelo N Khumalo referring to a picture Cal_Vin shared on Facebook of him in bed reading a verse in the Bible said: “If u remember this day was so proud when I saw this post on your wall.”
Three hours later, Cal_Vin deleted the series of posts insulting God and Jesus.

Grace Mugabe is under fire for purchasing a $1,3m diamond ring

By Gift Phiri The First Family’s holiday break in the Far East has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple allegedly salted away millions for the annual jamboree after scaling back financial perks for public sector employees, and as First Lady Grace Mugabe is under fire for purchasing a $1,3m diamond ring through a Lebanese dealer Jamal Ahmed.
The ring was said to be the couple’s 20-year wedding anniversary present.News reports claimed that the first family has spent $6 million of Zimbabwe taxpayers’ money on the latest vacation, which has seen it shuttling between Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong and China. Branding her “a vacation junkie”, analysts and opposition parties said the 51-year-old mother-of-four has been indulging in jet-setting, five-star hotels, and splashing out on expensive trips.
While the 92-year-old President Robert Mugabe and his wife do pay for some of their personal expenses from their own pocket, the amount paid by the couple is “dwarfed by the overall cost to the public”. She is also often criticised for her pricey, high-end wardrobe, and is considered one of the best-dressed ladies in the country — with the price tags to prove it — with her sartorial spending inviting ridicule.Her backers flatter her as a “fashion icon” on a “mission to make the world a better place for orphaned children.”
She runs the Amai Grace Mugabe Children’s Home in Mazowe housing 98 homeless and orphaned children. “If we are to nurture the children into good citizens, then it means we have to do all we can to give them necessary support,” she said in a recent interview. But some believe Grace’s lifestyle is lavish at the cost of the people of Zimbabwe, one of the poorest countries in southern Africa. To her supporters, she is glamorous, beautiful, charitable and royal, but to many of her citizens, she is extravagant, meddling and possibly off-rails. Political commentators claim Grace and her husband Mugabe, purchase “swanky stuff … constantly” and “on Zimbabweans’ dime”.
Speaking on the $6m for the trip and the diamond ring, senior consultant at the International Crisis Group, Piers Pigou said: “Both examples reflect different aspects of profligacy by the first family and a related lack of accountability that, at a time of profound and widespread deprivation among ordinary Zimbabweans and much-needed austerity, further damage their image both domestically and internationally.”
The jaunts come as Mugabe has skirted the issue of bonuses for government workers in one of the most drastic measures yet to save money at a time of one of the worst financial crises that has seen government racking up a record budget deficit.
It also comes as the economy is collapsing; cash and fuel supplies dwindling, and State coffers dry that the regime struggles to pay salaries or bonuses, with public-sector strikes, street protests, and desertions by key allies.
Stephen Chan, a professor of world politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London told the Daily News: “Now is not a moment for conspicuous consumption by leaders or their families in any part of the world.
“Whether the money involved was earned by legitimate business or not, examples of modesty are important to a struggling population.”
The first lady has drawn comparisons at home to Imelda Marcos, who fled the Philippines at the climax of the army-backed “people power” revolt in 1986 and left behind staggering amounts of personal belongings, clothes and art objects at the palace, including at least 1 220 pairs of shoes.
Opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) vice president Kucaca Phulu said: “It shows the gross disrespect for the common people and the extent to which a party that purports to be a revolutionary party is actually exploiting us just as we were exploited by the colonial masters.
“They will face the fate of Imelda Marcos and others who have taken their people for granted in the past.”
One such purchase by Grace was a ring encrusted with diamonds and costing almost $1,3 million which she later rejected, opting to have a refund.
The matter came to light after Ahmed dragged her to the courts as his properties were confiscated by the first lady over the issue.
Last week, the High Court ordered Grace off Ahmed’s three properties which are in Harare’s leafy suburbs within 24 hours.
The first lady’s lawyer, Wilson Manase, has said he would challenge the provisional order but Ahmed’s lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa, insisted that the first lady was in contempt of court, arguing a provisional order cannot be appealed against.
“The first lady’s defiance of a court order clearly shows that the political system in Zimbabwe, especially the State institutions that must hold politically-exposed persons accountable and prevent them from pursuing naked, self interest, have collapsed,” said academic Maureen Kademaunga.
“The system has atomised and chaos has become the new normal and because of this individualistic and unaccountable people like the first lady can get away with murder.
“The first family’s unchecked excesses have for long contributed to the intractable poverty of our people. Without a complete change of government and an aggressive programme to reform State institutions, we will forever be at the receiving end of this abuse.”
A social commentator who declined to be named said Grace’s diamond ring story is a tale of arrogant extravagance in the face of a starving nation.
“Her behaviour has shown how the nation has been dehumanised and taken for granted by an elite bent on milking Zimbabwe to the last drop.
“She represents a class that has turned Zimbabwe into a lucrative fish pond where only she and those facilitating and protecting this patronising pillage can catch the fish.
“The net result is the trickling down on corruption to all sectors of the civil service and the poor will suffer to eternity,” he said.
MDC spokesperson Obert Gutu said Mugabe and his family want to lead a swanky and fabulous lifestyle of billionaires or some other such filthy rich celebrities when in actual fact they have successfully managed to ransack and loot the national economy of Zimbabwe; in the process leaving more than 90 percent of the population living as destitute and tramps in their own country.
“It really boggles the mind how the first family can have the audacity and temerity to go on a $6 million State-funded extended holiday in Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Dubai when millions of Zimbabweans are wallowing in abject poverty.
“These people are shameless. They have got absolutely no conscience. The Zanu PF regime, fronted by Robert and Grace Mugabe, is a disgrace to all of us Zimbabweans. These people should simply go!”
Peter Maregere, a peace and security analyst and doctoral researcher, said beyond the mere condemnation, extravagance and intransigence that goes with these obscene expenditures, the broader issues around the designing and implementation of institutions of governance that are transparent, accountable and responsive with clear and unadulterated recall mechanisms, remains a yawning gap in the country’s democratic endeavour.
“That such astronomical figures can be spent without remorse, without having regard to the context and the predicament within which the country finds herself in, is a serious indictment to ‘our’ leadership model as a nation,” Meregere told the Daily News.
“Inevitably reproving the individuals and not viewing this as a societal misnomer with the audacity of condemning the futures of our children needs careful trading.
“Invariably, this demands our collective effort in designing sustainable democratic solutions — a systemic process that is more heuristic and holistic in nature to accommodate both individualistic and societal approaches in the promotion of thought leadership located within the institutions I alluded to above.” Daily News

A suspected small house in Beitbridge was viciously attacked with a broom stick last week after she was caught sleeping with a married man in his bedroom.
She reportedly fled her love nest undressed, clutching her underwear only.
The man's wife had just left for nearby shops when the small-house sneaked in.
According to reports, when she returned from the shops, the woman headed straight to her bedroom and caught the love birds in the act.

A member of President Robert Mugabe’s ruling Zanu PF, Mathema — who turns 70 on January 25 next year — last Thursday exchanged vows with Diana Bathabetsoe Nare, 23, at the pair’s well-attended wedding which was held at the Southerton Comfort Lodge in Bulawayo.
In addition to lighting up social media, the wedding has also become the talk of the town in the City of Kings, as well as in Tsholotsho — where Mathema hails from — primarily because of the age difference between the couple and how they met.
The lovebirds are said to have met at Bulawayo’s Mhlahlandlela Government Complex in 2014, where Mathema operates from, and where the bride had come for her industrial attachment.
“I attended both the wedding and the reception. Both the events attracted a huge crowd. The age factor was the main agenda of discussion among even those who turned up to witness the event,” a neighbour of the minister told the Daily News yesterday.
In 2009, Mathema was dragged before the Tsholotsho Magistrate’s Court for maintenance after he had allegedly impregnated and entered into a customary union with his then wife’s 20-year-old domestic worker.
In a video clip that has been shared widely on social media over the past few days, a gregarious Mathema is seen dancing very energetically with his new better half.
Mathema joins a distinguished list of Mugabe’s team, who include the nonagenarian himself, who have wedded youthful women.
Mugabe, who turns 93 in February next year, married powerful First Lady Grace Mugabe in 1996, with the age difference between the two being 42 years.
Just before he died, former Foreign Affairs minister Stanley Mudenge, had started living with a 21-year-old woman.

A pr_ostitute in Zimbabwe beat a punter around the head with a beer bottle after he offered to pay for se_x with a boiled egg, the DailyMail UK has reported. This did not endear him to the 23-year-old, called Chipo, but to add insult to injury he then tried to haggle with his only asset.
Mushonga told her he had just spent his last bit of money on buying two boiled eggs, which cost 0.25 Zimbabwe dollars, the equivalent of less than a penny or a cent. Sadly he had already eaten one too.Insulted by his attitude, Chipo flew into a rage, hiting hit him with the beer bottle, and then punched him in the face, before knocking him out.
When he came round Mushonga was bleeding heavily from his head. He told local media: ‘She could have just said no.’ Chipo, who was not charged by police, said she simply felt he needed to be taught a lesson about respect. Earlier this year the Weekend Post newspaper in the capital, Harare, reported that the economy was so bad that se_x workers had reduced their prices to 0.8 Zimbabwe dollars – equivalent to half a loaf of bread. Makandiwa Faces Arrest

United Family Church Intl leader Emmanuel Makandiwa is set to be arrested, Daily Buzz SA has learnt.
The development comes after the spiritist necromancer was reported to have uttered a “Mugabe replacement prophecy.” saying the 92 year old’s post will be snatched by a diasporan.
Reports circulating say Makandiwa who has for years been walking free from police scrutiny despite a plethora of reported “underhand dealings,” will be hit by a ZRP raid soon. This is once Mugabe plans have sailed through to the state security.
On Friday Makandiwa’s contemporary Walter Magaya was arrested for alleged rape. Analyst, Silus Madondo says “Archbishop Pius Ncube was humiliated because he was a serious critic of ZANU PF government and I also suspect that Prophet Magaya may be in hot soup because he criticized the ‘bond notes’ and/or his ambitious house project”.
As of last week, plans to thumb Makandiwa had already surfaced with government clergyman, Johannes Ndanga, attacking Makandiwa on the subject of bond notes.
“The man (Makandiwa) that refused the bond notes clearly stated that he doesn’t trust the Reserve Bank Governor (Dr John Mangudya) even if what he has planned makes sense,” Ndanga said.
He continued,
“I said it myself, therefore the bond notes are good. If you want to see that the bond notes are good, our country has vast mineral reserves that back up our currency. We’ve huge gold reserves mined by makorokoza and established mines that are bringing in foreign currency.
So why are you saying the bond notes cannot be sustained? Why don’t we have our own currency that works in Zimbabwe while things are being fixed? On behalf of VaPostori, we want those bond notes.”

Zimbabwes controversial First Lady Lady Grace Mugabe has reportedly told the Zanu-PF women's league that she "plans and does all things with her husband President Robert Mugabe" meaning, she is already President of the country, Thereby confirming the long held suspicion that she was running the State's affairs for Mugabe. Mashonaland West women's league chairperson, Angeline Muchemeyi said Grace notified that she has no reason for her to fight to be Vice-President, a lesser position, when she was already running the Nations affairs.
Muchemeyi revealed this after the Zanu-PF women's league passed a resolution that Grace remain secretary for women's affairs in the party.
Contrary to speculation that there will be a push by women to have the Zanu-PF constitution changed to allow a woman Vice-President, a move that has been viewed as paving the way for Grace, Muchemeyi said the First Lady had said she was comfortable steering the women's wing because she was already running the affairs of the State.
Asked if the Mashonaland resolutions were in a way a sign of ditching Grace, Muchemeyi said: "Grace told an executive meeting that she is ‘already the President' and would not want to be appointed VP, as it was a lower post.
"The First Lady said I'm the wife of the President, I'm the president already … I plan and do everything with the President, what more do I want, for now the position of the women boss is enough."
Last year, Grace said Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko took instructions from her.
Grace has been linked to the G40 faction that is said to be opposed to Mnangagwa succeeding Mugabe.
The women's league had been pushing for a female Vice-President, a move viewed as aimed at toppling Mnangagwa and have him replaced by Mugabe's wife.
In a surprise turn of events, the women's' league spoke highly of war veterans, saying women respect the former freedom fighters because they are principled, unlike newcomers in the party, who are bent on destroying Zanu-PF for money, but Muchemeyi did not elaborate on this.
"We have our war vets, who have a history in the party, they respect our President because they went to war, but the factions are created by handpicked members, who do not have liberation credentials," she said.

Magaya Rape Case Takes a New Twist ..A HARARE woman who claimed to have been raped by Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya has officially filed papers with the Prosecutor-General’s office and the Zimbabwe Republic Police dropping the charges. She also communicated her decision to Prophet Magaya’s lawyer. The woman had initially not followed the correct procedure to withdraw the charges. She reportedly sneaked the papers into Harare magistrate Mr Vakayi Chikwekwe’s office under the door.
Mr Chikwekwe dismissed the purported withdrawal of the charges, citing failure to follow court procedure. Prosecuting, Mr Sebastian Mutizirwa professed ignorance of the origins of the affidavit then.
He said if the complainant intended to withdraw charges against Prophet Magaya, she was supposed to go to the police or the AG’s office.The woman later followed procedure and served all the parties the relevant papers, which included two affidavits and a letter.
In a letter accompanying the withdrawal affidavit addressed to the acting PG, the woman indicated that no one had forced her to withdraw the charges. She vowed never in her entire life to pursue the case again.
“I make reference to the rape case which is pending before the courts against Prophet Walter Magaya. I have since filed a withdrawal affidavit which I am aware might have been misconstrued. I have since prepared a clear cut withdrawal affidavit,” said the woman. “I have freely and voluntarily withdrawn this criminal complaint against Walter Magaya. I have not been unduly influenced at all and this decision is mine and mine alone,”read the letter.
She urged the relevant authorities to respect her decision.
“I do not wish to proceed with it at all and never in my entire time. For the avoidance of doubt and to protect the integrity of the withdrawal affidavit, as well as my own integrity, I will inform the police and the accused’s lawyers,” she said.
The date stamps on the letter show all the parties were served last Friday. In another affidavit dated November 17, the complainant said the threats she received from unknown ‘forces’ that wanted Magaya jailed were not the main cause of her decision.
“I want to correct any misguided misconception or misguided inferences that the referred threats are the prime cause of the withdrawal. Far from it, this withdrawal is motivated by my own free will and volition without any undue influence having been brought to bear,” she said.
“This is my personal decision not influenced by anybody or anything whatsoever. I understand the legal implications of such a withdrawal to the extent that I will never ever approach the courts with the same matter,” read the certified affidavit.
In her withdrawal affidavit, the woman claimed there were “forces” who wanted Magaya jailed. She narrated how she had receiving death threats from unknown people ordering her to ensure Magaya was convicted and jailed.
“I have received threats from people who are threatening to shoot me in the event that I do not testify well in order to get the accused convicted, if by any chance I decide to withdraw the matter. “I then realised that if I do not win this case or do not do what they expect me to do, my life is in danger. I have come to the conclusion that this case is now beyond me,” reads part of the affidavit.
The woman claimed she had not lived a normal life since the commencement of the case in August.
“I have also come to understand that a greater evil are the people outside this matter that want me to get the accused convicted, even if it means adding lies to my testimony in court. I am not able to go through with this case,” she said. “I cannot testify under these conditions in court knowing that I have to perform in a way that these people who are threatening me desire.”
She said Magaya had no influence in her decision to withdraw the case, neither had he contacted or paid her. “Please note that I was not forced by anyone to withdraw my case. It should be noted that at the time of the withdrawal, the accused has not contacted me or given me money to withdraw. I did this out of my own free will,” reads the affidavit.
The final decision on whether to set Magaya free or not now lies with the PG’s office since it must determine the route a case follows. Magaya will be back in court on November 30 following the dismissal of his application for refusal of further remand.
Magaya is represented by Messrs Everson Chatambudza, Admire Rubaya and Oliver Marwa.

Zika virus cases reported in Scotland

The Zika virus has spread to Scotland, it has been confirmed.
An undisclosed number of people in the country have been diagnosed as having the virus, but the Scottish Government stressed that the disease, which has sparked a major health alert in South America, "does not pose a public health risk".
The disease is spread by mosquitos, which would not be able to survive in Scotland's climate, and cannot be passed from person-to-person.
More than 50 people across the UK have been treated for the infection, which is associated with a birth defect called microcephaly, which results in children being born with abnormally small heads and brain damage.
Fear of the virus has led a number of competitors to opt out of this year's Olympic Games in Brazil, including top British golfer Rory McIlroy.

A Scottish Government spokesman said: "We can assure the public that Zika does not pose a public health risk in Scotland, and of the cases identified in the UK a very small number have been found in Scotland.
"The mosquito that spreads the virus is not found in the UK, and in any case would not be able to establish in Scotland because of our climate.
"Zika cannot be spread through person-to-person or airborne contact."
He added: "We have already informed the at-risk groups about the risks and how to protect themselves through Health Protection Scotland's travel advice.
"We continue to closely monitor developments in our understanding of the Zika virus as treatments and testing regimes develop."
Since the Zika epidemic began in 2015, nearly 5,000 cases of microcephaly have been recorded in affected regions.
On February 1 this year the World Health Organisation declared the epidemic an international public health emergency. Worldwide concern has centred on north-east Brazil but more than 20 other countries have now been affected.
So far more than 1,650 Zika infections have been reported in the US - four patients in Florida who have tested positive for the virus appear to be the first cases not linked to travel outside the US mainland. www.standard.co.uk
NetOne joins Econet and Telecel in the suspension of airtime promotions

It’s not just Econet Wireless and Telecel that have been forced by POTRAZ to suspend their promotions, NetOne has also received a regulatory directive to halt airtime bonuses.
The state owned mobile network operator issued a press statement announcing the suspension of its Data Bundles Reloaded and Bundles Reappear Promotions.
The suspension will take effect on the 4th of August 2016 (today) at 6pm.

Econet sued over payphone sim cards

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has been sued to the tune of $60 000 by a Harare firm after it allegedly failed to pay for the importation of 2 500 sim cards, despite the mobile service provider activating them on its network.
Callander Enterprises and its proprietor, Mr Makomborero Muza, has dragged Econet Wireless to the High Court for failing to make payments after the firm imported sim cards allegedly for the mobile service provider on the understanding that the two would enter into an agreement regarding profit sharing ratio from the distribution, sale and use of the cards to payphone operators throughout the country.
But Econet Wireless has dismissed the legal suit arguing that while it activated the sim cards on its network, there was never an agreement on profit sharing, neither were the sim cards imported on its behalf.
In papers filed last month, Callander Enterprises said due to foreign currency challenges in 2008, Econet Wireless, through its managers Mr Macdonald Chabvonga and Mr Nigel Masiyiwa, introduced Mr Muza to one of its business partners in South Africa, so that his firm could import the sim cards using own financial resources on behalf of Econet Wireless.

“Plaintiffs managed to raise the required foreign currency which defendant did not have then, and bought 2 500 sim cards from South Africa on behalf of Econet Wireless and it distributed the sim cards across the country, to payphone operators together with individuals who were interested in the payphone business.
“The sim cards had the advantage that they had an in-built billing system.”
The firm averred that Econet Wireless has since converted the sim cards into Buddie lines but has been refusing to have both parties sign a written agreement, thus continuing to deprive it of both profit and the money spent to purchase the cards.
“Plaintiffs have been impoverished by the enrichment of the defendant regarding the amount spent purchasing the sim cards, as the defendant is making use of the sim cards in its cellphone business to gain personal profit by selling airtime to possesors of the cards who are registered on its cellphone network,” read the papers.
In response, Econet Wireless denied liability arguing that its business was not run through verbal agreements, saying the only agreement it had with Callander Enterprises was that of a payphone business.
Econet Wireless submitted that Callander Enterprises approached them with a request for assistance on how it could increase supply of its sim cards.
“It was at this juncture when Econet Wireless through one of its directors, informally advised plaintiff that it was free to, at its own risk and cost, and in terms of clause 7.8 of the written agreement, purchase and import the sim cards directly from South Africa which cards Econet Wireless would register on its network,” read the papers.
Econet Wireless argued that Callander Enterprises suffered loss on its account and that the firm had no claim against it on the line numbers allocated to subscribers as they were owned by the mobile service provider.
The case is due to go for trial before a High Court judge.
Bid to smuggle 2500 kgs of mbanje backfires at border

Police on Sunday arrested four suspects at Nyamapanda Border Post while trying to smuggle into the country 2 500 kilogrammes of mbanje.
As of yesterday, the suspects were still assisting police with investigations.
They will appear in court soon. Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrests yesterday.
“On July 31, 2016, police at Nyamapanda Border Post received information pertaining to drug traffickers involving a freightliner truck. When the truck arrived at the border, the driver produced a manifesto cargo of purported 30 tonnes of wheat bran,” she said.
Snr Asst Comm Charamba said police and Zimbabwe Revenue Authority officials searched the truck and recovered 47 x 50kg bags (2 350kg) of mbanje stashed among bags of wheat bran.
They arrested the driver who implicated the other three suspects who had crossed the border through an illegal entry point.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police would like to warn all those involved in illegal possession of drugs that the law will take its course. Transporters should desist from assisting individuals involved in trafficking drugs,” said Snr Asst Comm Charamba.
In May, unknown criminals dumped 550kg of mbanje worth thousands of dollars at Granville Cemetery, believed to have been smuggled into the country. In January 2013, police in Harare intercepted a Malawi-registered truck carrying about 3 700kg.
They will appear in court soon. Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrests yesterday.

Magistrate says Lumumba ‘confused’ – keeps changing lawyers

A Harare magistrate has described former Zanu PF activist Acie Lumumba as “confused” because he is continually changing his lawyers.
Lumumba whose real name is William Mutumanje, is charged with undermining President Robert Mugabe’s authority after telling him f*** you during the launch of a new party.On Tuesday, the Magistrate, Mr Vakayi Chikwekwe chided Lumumba for “bringing a new lawyer for every court session”. This was after he brought Advocate Zvikomborero Chadambuka to represent him.
In the last court session, Lumumba was represented by Advocate Nelson Chamisa. Earlier on he had been represented by Mr Arshiel Mugiya. Chikwekwe yesterday inquired if the new advocate was instructed.
The defence counsel produced a letter from Lumumba’s first lawyer, Mr Mugiya, which Mr Chikwekwe said was not clear. Prosecutor Mr Oscar Madhume said the matter was being continually postponed at the insistence of the accused.
To this Mr Chikwekwe said: “Accused you are confused, go and put your house on order.
“With so many lawyers in the country, I wonder how many you will bring to this case.”

Lumumba seeks Constitutional Court referral of his matter following the dismissal of his application challenging his placement on remand.
He said his constitutional rights as enshrined in the Constitution were being infringed upon.
Allegations are that on June 30 Lumumba said “Mr President Robert Gabriel Mugabe f*** you. I am drawing the red line, our kids are in trouble so it is a red line I know and my name is Lumumba, Lumumba, Lumumba . . . ”
He was addressing a press conference where he unveiled his political party.
It is further alleged that he went on to say that if anything happened to President Mugabe, his children would be dealt with.
“I am someone’s child, a war veteran’s child, you can touch me, but I hope you live long because God forbid something happens to you and you leave your kids, they will be touched too.”
This week Dr Alex Magaisa, a law lecturer at Kent University in the United Kingdom said that Section 33 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act that provides against insulting the president is unconstitutional as it is too vague and violates freedom of expression and citizens’ political rights.
“Section 33 is an outdated and unjust law which is not fit for purpose. It is unconstitutional and should be struck off the statute books because it is a serious hazard to democracy,” said Magaisa in a recent blog. (Read the full article here).
“An executive president is an active politician who routinely trades arguments with and exchanges occasional political jibes against opponents, especially during election time.
“It is inherently unfair for a legal system to give protection to a president who freely criticizes and insults competitors whenever opportunity permits,” said Magaisa.
“Indeed, the reality in Zimbabwe is that President Mugabe has often publicly insulted his political rivals and other critics and yet the legal system has often descended heavily upon those who allegedly insult him,” added the law expert.

Elizabeth Fumero revealed this at the civil court where Ayisha Jera sought a protection order against her.
Elizabeth argued that if she had intentions of killing Ayisha she had the chance to do so but never used it.
“This woman was brought into my house by my husband and was introduced as his niece. I lived with her for three months and only came to know the true nature of their relationship when she got pregnant.

“She is an aggressive woman who is bitter that her husband lied to her about me. May the court protect me from her because I am now afraid of staying with her in the same house,” she said.
Presiding magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza granted Ayisha the protection order she sought.

Kirsty Coventry is Zimbabwe Flag-bearer at #Rio2016

SEVEN-time Olympic medallist Kirsty Coventry will carry Zimbabwe’s flag into the Rio Olympics opening ceremony at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.

Media reports at the weekend had suggested that that honour would be bestowed on sprinter Gabriel Mvumvure, but the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (Zoc) yesterday announced it is the swimming sensation who will play the sentimental role in her Olympic swansong.
Zoc also announced long distance runner Tatenda Tsumba would be the team’s tree bearer at the Games, which will run from August 5-21.

It is the second time that Coventry will lead Team Zimbabwe at the Olympics after she acted in the same capacity at the 2012 London Olympics.
Other Olympians who have led Team Zimbabwe at the Olympics are Abel Nkhoma (1980), Zephaniah Ncube (1984), James Gombedza (1988), Tendai Chimusasa (1996), Phillip Mukomana (2000), Talkmore Nyongani (2004), and Brian Dzingai in 2008.
The 32-year-old will kickstart her campaign by taking part in the heats of the 100m backstroke next Sunday at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium in Rio.
Coventry, who shares the record of seven individual medals with Hungarian swimmer Krisztina Egerszegi, could become the first female swimmer to win eight individual medals.
While her biggest shot at a record eighth Olympic medal in Rio lies in her signature event — the 200m backstroke — Coventry will also compete in the 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley.

Lady Squanda repent, The Lord is angry. Hand yourself over to the police, Just saying sorry is not enough, and as long as you are still in hiding you have not yet repented.
All that is happening to Ladie Squanda is spiritual, We see that in the bible the significance of feet is great.
Ladie Squanda lost her anointing to Skimbo ,
Mary Magdalene kissed and washed Jesus feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair, When she did that she was delivered from 7 demons and her brother Lazarus was resurrected.
In the bible we see that feet washing is practiced in connection with the Agape and the Lord's Supper also known as holy communion .Before the supper is eaten all the communicants wash one another's feet, the brethren by themselves, and likewise the sisters by themselves.
This was done to show love and welcome the Holy Spirit because where there is love the Holy Spirit comes.Moses and the burning bush, The Holy spirit told Moses to take off his shoes because he was at a holy place, All this mean is shoes where worn to avoid people losing their anointing in an unholy place and Moses was asked to take them of at the bush because it was holly and safe from "kunokorwa tsoka" (footprint Witchcraft and spell casting). People can either be blessed or cursed through feet. Feet have a spiritual link that's why we wear shoes to avoid pple from stealing our footprints for witchcraft.
(1) Jesus Washing the Disciples' Feet (John 13:1-17).
"At supper time" (deipnou genomenou) Jesus arose, laid aside His garments (himatia = "outer garments"), girded Himself with a towel, poured water into a basin, and began to wash and wipe the feet of the disciples.
(2) Peter's Objection.
"Simon Peter .... saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet (su mou nipteis tous podas)? Jesus answered .... What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet." Whereupon Jesus said:
"If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me."

Zimbabwe Blind Girl engages in Prostitution to Raise money for eye Surgery, WHERE IS SOCIAL WELFARE?

I was hurt upon coming across this sad story online, i asked myself WHERE IS SOCIAL WELFARE?? just 500 bucks?
A partially blind woman has ventured into prostitution claiming she wants to raise money for eye surgery.
The woman, who only identified herself as Kelly of Chitungwiza, told
H-Metro that she wanted to raise US$500 needed for her treatment and has
engaged her lover to protect her.
“My life is no longer the same following the passing on of my mother and this forced me into prostitution my brother,” said Kelly.
“I have no problem of accommodation since I am renting a room with my
boyfriend Elton in Unit K Chitungwiza and he is the one who keeps all
the money I receive from the men I render services to.
“Elton makes sure he records all the vehicle registration numbers of motorists who hire me and makes sure I am secured.
“I used to stay in Epworth before relocating to Chitungwiza with my boyfriend. Tinomwa chibhodhoro husiku hwose kuti tisanyanyonzwa chando.
“After raising the money I do not see myself continuing in se_x work because the life is not good at all and some of the clients want to take advantage of me to give me peanuts.
“It is not a good method to raise money though but I was left without any other option until I agreed with my boyfriend.
“If I find someone to help me I will not continue in the streets. I will invite you home for more detail since I cannot disclose everything in the presence of these ladies; after all I am here for business, ndipewo dollar rekutenga sadza,” said Kelly accompanied by another thigh vendor identified only as Rachel.
Kelly told H-Metro that she comes from Mudzi where most of her relatives live but has since stopped visiting them.
Elton confirmed cohabiting with Kelly saying he makes sure Kelly’s clients do not take advantage of her blindness.
“I record those who engage Kelly for security purposes and I make sure she is kept warm by collecting pieces of cardboard boxes to make fire,” he said.
Rachel told H-Metro that she helps Kelly by holding her hand when approaching her potential clients saying most of the clients are after young ladies.
“Kelly is getting more customers and we have agreed with all hookers around this place that we must not compete with her since she is after raising money for eye surgery,” said Rachel.
“I give her a hand leading her to her clients because it will be dark since she is blind ini ndakatanga ndichinyara ndaizoti ndadhakwa ndotanga kuseka varume vanouya but these days I am now a senior,” said Rachel.
