Woman faces extortion charges for making husband pay $200000 maintanance for a child who wasnt his

A HARARE woman facing extortion charges for allegedly fleecing her Pakistan diplomat lover denied the charges Thursday, arguing that it was the envoy who bribed her to abort their adulterous pregnancy.Olga Mukwindidza, 33, is accused of having swindled over $200,000 from Muhammed Akram for the upkeep of children reportedly not his.

When she was put to her defence after her application for discharge was turned down at the close of state’s case, Mukwindidza told the court Akram never wanted their baby as he was elderly, with children of his age.“He started to persuade me to abort and I gave him hope I was going to do so,” she explained.

“Because he so much despised my pregnancy he would come every day and do anything I wanted because he believed I was going to abort.“He even gave me $5,000 to fly my assistants and myself for shopping in South Africa all in the name of abortion but I did not do as he wanted and this is what angered him prompting him to turn against me.”

Despite Akram’s evidence that they never had a sexual relationship, Mukwindidza told the court that the envoy was embarrassed and feared that the affair would tarnish his image.

She said they never used protection during s.ex so she was equally surprised why he denied responsibility for the child in court.Led by her defence counsel, Mukwindidza said Akram had sought for protection order against her in a bid to cover up for his scandal.

She testified that they were so in love to an extent that the diplomat promised her the world.

“He had said I would own half of the shares in his mining company, Zim Millers as well as in his farming project,” she said.

In his statement when he applied for the protection order, the court heard the envoy admitted to having had unsafe s.ex with Mukwindidza and even apologised for indulging in an adulterous affair before the courts.

Akram said he had s.ex with Mukwindidza once and the condom they used burst resulting in her falling pregnant.

He also admitted to have accepted responsibility of the pregnancy but he changed his story when he testified against Mukwindidza Thursday.

The state alleges that Mukwindidza walked away with $200,000 from her adulterous affair with the envoy.

Exposure threat

This was after she threatened to expose the relationship and leak n.ude pictures of him to his family, his church, the media and his business circles.

Court heard Mukwindidza has two children from her first marriage to one Rizwan Ahmad Bhatti.

Prosecutors say she would fraudulently change these children’s birth certificates to reflect the details of the targeted foreigners.

They say that sometime in 2011, Mukwindidza had a relationship with Akram but the couple later broke up.

She then lied to Akram that she was pregnant before misrepresenting that she had given birth to a baby boy.

Akram denied responsibility but Mukwindidza fraudulently acquired a fake birth certificate, changing her son’s name to Mohsin Akram Muhammed.

Using the fake birth certificate, Mukwindidza applied for maintenance at the Harare Civil Court where she claimed $2,000.

She also manufactured school receipts purportedly from Little Explorer’s School and claimed $1,050 as fees.

Although the said child was not even enrolled at that school, the magistrate granted her application, acting on the fraudulent documents.

Mukwindidza, who had Akram’s nude pictures, allegedly extorted $169,260 from him while threatening to take the pictures to his family and the press.
