Katherine Gaydos, a single mum-of-two from Florida, was outside when a man with a leaf blower blew debris into her eye.

She called for him to run inside and grab her eye drops from her handbag, but he accidentally grabbed a tube of strong glue used for false nails.

He then squeezed the strong adhesive directly into her eye.

'Something blew into my eye and I screamed for someone else to get eye drops out of my purse and they brought Super Glue,' she told local TV station WPBF.

'As soon as I felt it in my eye I felt it burn and I closed my eye and screamed 'Call 911.'

At first, the single mum-of-two was turned away from her doctor's office because she didn't have insurance and she wasn't able to pay.

She ended up living with her eye sealed shut for nine days. However, after her story was broadcast on TV the surgery called her back in and a different doctor pried her eye open.

They then asked her to go back in to get the glue scraped off her cornea.

'He said I should get my sight back, and not have permanent damage,' she said.
