The lady who might be a teenager seemed to have forgotten to finish dressing. She had on only her panties and white shirt. A Witness Bongani age 29 said there was a noisy uproar as the mob teased the half naked lady.
He said after she dressed herself in the Kombi, she remained there looking shamefaced.
“But people didn’t give up. They kept taking photos and peered through the windows.”
He said people first thought she was mentally unstable, but later realized she was not.
“She looked fine. But it was the first time a thing like this has happened at our taxi rank. That’s why people got excited and took pictures,” said Bongani.
He said police were called to ease the situation at the taxi rank and they took the woman away.
Chairman for Nquthu Taxi Association Mthandeni Ndlovu confirmed the incident. He said taxi drivers were shocked to see a half-naked woman at their rank. “We know it is summer and people are allowed to wear anything that makes them feel cool. But in Nquthu, we are not familiar with half-naked people, because we’re a rural area. Seeing that woman shocked us.”
