Masimba Baradza age 33, pleaded guilty before the magistrate Langton Mukwengi for charges of assault, Assulting Nyasha Kapinyu, 27, using an iron bar on the head and legs.Mukwengi spared Baradza prison but slapped him a $20 fine, saying “he was provoked”.

“I have considered that the accused was provoked, but he cannot go unpunished. He will pay a $20 fine,” said Mukwengi. Prosecutor Cuthbert Bosha told the court that on October 27 at around 08:45 am, Baradza found his pregnant wife in bed with another man at their matrimonial home.
Enraged, Baradza heavily assaulted his wife with an iron bar, injuring her forehead and legs. Baradza told the court during mitigation that he committed the offence after he found out that he was being cheated by his pregnant wife.
“Your Worship, I was provoked.
“This woman is carrying my baby but she was cheating on me,” said Baradza.
