Pastors wife wife Church Drama, You will be shocked by what she did
The Family of Christ International Church congregants and their pastor are reportedly worshipping in fear as their leader’s estranged wife is in the habit of pouncing unexpectedly just to disturb services as a way of fixing him.
The man of God, Rodwell Mavumahoko has been humiliated by his wife Beatrice Mupungu Mavumahoko forcing him to seek a protection order against her so he could have peace and regain his dignity.Pastor Mavumahoko in his affidavit stated that his wife Mupungu who left their matrimonial home in November 2016 had developed a bad habit of coming to his church to disturb services.
“I am applying for a protection order against Beatrice Mupungu Mavumahoko. She should stop her habit of coming to my home and church to disturb services.
“She should stay away from church meetings and disrupting services,” he said.
Mavumahoko also stated that the woman should stop her threats of killing anyone resident at house number 6511 Nkulumane.
“She should not threaten to harm me, relatives, friends, church members and employees,” he said.
The man of cloth also stated that the protection order should stretch to derogatory abusive calls, texts, and threats to hit him, destroying property and burning down of the house.
He further recommended that his wife should only peacefully communicate with him for limited reasons and that she goes for anger management and counselling.
Mavumahoko also displayed that he was living in fear as he suggested that the woman must be prohibited from purchasing firearms.
However, the woman did not attend the court session and the presiding magistrate Tancy Dube granted the protection order in her absence.

Zika virus cases reported in Scotland
August 05, 2016
The Zika virus has spread to Scotland, it has been confirmed.
An undisclosed number of people in the country have been diagnosed as having the virus, but the Scottish Government stressed that the disease, which has sparked a major health alert in South America, "does not pose a public health risk".
The disease is spread by mosquitos, which would not be able to survive in Scotland's climate, and cannot be passed from person-to-person.
More than 50 people across the UK have been treated for the infection, which is associated with a birth defect called microcephaly, which results in children being born with abnormally small heads and brain damage.
Fear of the virus has led a number of competitors to opt out of this year's Olympic Games in Brazil, including top British golfer Rory McIlroy.

A Scottish Government spokesman said: "We can assure the public that Zika does not pose a public health risk in Scotland, and of the cases identified in the UK a very small number have been found in Scotland.
"The mosquito that spreads the virus is not found in the UK, and in any case would not be able to establish in Scotland because of our climate.
"Zika cannot be spread through person-to-person or airborne contact."
He added: "We have already informed the at-risk groups about the risks and how to protect themselves through Health Protection Scotland's travel advice.
"We continue to closely monitor developments in our understanding of the Zika virus as treatments and testing regimes develop."
Since the Zika epidemic began in 2015, nearly 5,000 cases of microcephaly have been recorded in affected regions.
On February 1 this year the World Health Organisation declared the epidemic an international public health emergency. Worldwide concern has centred on north-east Brazil but more than 20 other countries have now been affected.
So far more than 1,650 Zika infections have been reported in the US - four patients in Florida who have tested positive for the virus appear to be the first cases not linked to travel outside the US mainland. www.standard.co.uk
NetOne joins Econet and Telecel in the suspension of airtime promotions
August 04, 2016
It’s not just Econet Wireless and Telecel that have been forced by POTRAZ to suspend their promotions, NetOne has also received a regulatory directive to halt airtime bonuses.
The state owned mobile network operator issued a press statement announcing the suspension of its Data Bundles Reloaded and Bundles Reappear Promotions.
The suspension will take effect on the 4th of August 2016 (today) at 6pm.

No explanation has been provided by POTRAZ for the directive and the operators have so far failed to give the reason behind it.
The move has been criticised by subscribers since the promotions which offer discounts on voice, SMS and data, have offered some relief from the high tariffs that are charged for mobile telecoms service. www.topnews.co.zw
Econet sued over payphone sim cards
August 02, 2016
Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has been sued to the tune of $60 000 by a Harare firm after it allegedly failed to pay for the importation of 2 500 sim cards, despite the mobile service provider activating them on its network.
Callander Enterprises and its proprietor, Mr Makomborero Muza, has dragged Econet Wireless to the High Court for failing to make payments after the firm imported sim cards allegedly for the mobile service provider on the understanding that the two would enter into an agreement regarding profit sharing ratio from the distribution, sale and use of the cards to payphone operators throughout the country.
But Econet Wireless has dismissed the legal suit arguing that while it activated the sim cards on its network, there was never an agreement on profit sharing, neither were the sim cards imported on its behalf.
In papers filed last month, Callander Enterprises said due to foreign currency challenges in 2008, Econet Wireless, through its managers Mr Macdonald Chabvonga and Mr Nigel Masiyiwa, introduced Mr Muza to one of its business partners in South Africa, so that his firm could import the sim cards using own financial resources on behalf of Econet Wireless.

| Econet sued over payphone sim cards |
“Plaintiffs managed to raise the required foreign currency which defendant did not have then, and bought 2 500 sim cards from South Africa on behalf of Econet Wireless and it distributed the sim cards across the country, to payphone operators together with individuals who were interested in the payphone business.
“The sim cards had the advantage that they had an in-built billing system.”
The firm averred that Econet Wireless has since converted the sim cards into Buddie lines but has been refusing to have both parties sign a written agreement, thus continuing to deprive it of both profit and the money spent to purchase the cards.
“Plaintiffs have been impoverished by the enrichment of the defendant regarding the amount spent purchasing the sim cards, as the defendant is making use of the sim cards in its cellphone business to gain personal profit by selling airtime to possesors of the cards who are registered on its cellphone network,” read the papers.
In response, Econet Wireless denied liability arguing that its business was not run through verbal agreements, saying the only agreement it had with Callander Enterprises was that of a payphone business.
Econet Wireless submitted that Callander Enterprises approached them with a request for assistance on how it could increase supply of its sim cards.
“It was at this juncture when Econet Wireless through one of its directors, informally advised plaintiff that it was free to, at its own risk and cost, and in terms of clause 7.8 of the written agreement, purchase and import the sim cards directly from South Africa which cards Econet Wireless would register on its network,” read the papers.
Econet Wireless argued that Callander Enterprises suffered loss on its account and that the firm had no claim against it on the line numbers allocated to subscribers as they were owned by the mobile service provider.
The case is due to go for trial before a High Court judge.
Bid to smuggle 2500 kgs of mbanje backfires at border
August 02, 2016
Police on Sunday arrested four suspects at Nyamapanda Border Post while trying to smuggle into the country 2 500 kilogrammes of mbanje.
As of yesterday, the suspects were still assisting police with investigations.
They will appear in court soon. Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrests yesterday.
“On July 31, 2016, police at Nyamapanda Border Post received information pertaining to drug traffickers involving a freightliner truck. When the truck arrived at the border, the driver produced a manifesto cargo of purported 30 tonnes of wheat bran,” she said.
Snr Asst Comm Charamba said police and Zimbabwe Revenue Authority officials searched the truck and recovered 47 x 50kg bags (2 350kg) of mbanje stashed among bags of wheat bran.
They arrested the driver who implicated the other three suspects who had crossed the border through an illegal entry point.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police would like to warn all those involved in illegal possession of drugs that the law will take its course. Transporters should desist from assisting individuals involved in trafficking drugs,” said Snr Asst Comm Charamba.
In May, unknown criminals dumped 550kg of mbanje worth thousands of dollars at Granville Cemetery, believed to have been smuggled into the country. In January 2013, police in Harare intercepted a Malawi-registered truck carrying about 3 700kg.
They will appear in court soon. Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrests yesterday.

Magistrate says Lumumba ‘confused’ – keeps changing lawyers
August 02, 2016
A Harare magistrate has described former Zanu PF activist Acie Lumumba as “confused” because he is continually changing his lawyers.
Lumumba whose real name is William Mutumanje, is charged with undermining President Robert Mugabe’s authority after telling him f*** you during the launch of a new party. On Tuesday, the Magistrate, Mr Vakayi Chikwekwe chided Lumumba for “bringing a new lawyer for every court session”. This was after he brought Advocate Zvikomborero Chadambuka to represent him.
In the last court session, Lumumba was represented by Advocate Nelson Chamisa. Earlier on he had been represented by Mr Arshiel Mugiya. Chikwekwe yesterday inquired if the new advocate was instructed.
The defence counsel produced a letter from Lumumba’s first lawyer, Mr Mugiya, which Mr Chikwekwe said was not clear. Prosecutor Mr Oscar Madhume said the matter was being continually postponed at the insistence of the accused.
To this Mr Chikwekwe said: “Accused you are confused, go and put your house on order.
“With so many lawyers in the country, I wonder how many you will bring to this case.”

Lumumba seeks Constitutional Court referral of his matter following the dismissal of his application challenging his placement on remand.
He said his constitutional rights as enshrined in the Constitution were being infringed upon.
Allegations are that on June 30 Lumumba said “Mr President Robert Gabriel Mugabe f*** you. I am drawing the red line, our kids are in trouble so it is a red line I know and my name is Lumumba, Lumumba, Lumumba . . . ”
He was addressing a press conference where he unveiled his political party.
It is further alleged that he went on to say that if anything happened to President Mugabe, his children would be dealt with.
“I am someone’s child, a war veteran’s child, you can touch me, but I hope you live long because God forbid something happens to you and you leave your kids, they will be touched too.”
This week Dr Alex Magaisa, a law lecturer at Kent University in the United Kingdom said that Section 33 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act that provides against insulting the president is unconstitutional as it is too vague and violates freedom of expression and citizens’ political rights.
“Section 33 is an outdated and unjust law which is not fit for purpose. It is unconstitutional and should be struck off the statute books because it is a serious hazard to democracy,” said Magaisa in a recent blog. (Read the full article here).
“An executive president is an active politician who routinely trades arguments with and exchanges occasional political jibes against opponents, especially during election time.
“It is inherently unfair for a legal system to give protection to a president who freely criticizes and insults competitors whenever opportunity permits,” said Magaisa.
“Indeed, the reality in Zimbabwe is that President Mugabe has often publicly insulted his political rivals and other critics and yet the legal system has often descended heavily upon those who allegedly insult him,” added the law expert.
He added: “A law that fails to treat all persons equally falls short of the standard of the right to equal protection of the law and against non-discrimination which are protected under Section 56 of the Constitution.” Nehanda Radio
Storm As Man Brings Smallhouse Home - Introduces Her As His Niece
August 02, 2016
A city woman has claimed her husband brought his lover home and lied she was his niece and the two women are now at odds.
Elizabeth Fumero revealed this at the civil court where Ayisha Jera sought a protection order against her.
Elizabeth argued that if she had intentions of killing Ayisha she had the chance to do so but never used it.
“This woman was brought into my house by my husband and was introduced as his niece. I lived with her for three months and only came to know the true nature of their relationship when she got pregnant.

“My husband then told me that she was not a relative but rather a second wife he had brought home. I did not even attack her. I was angry and I left the house. I never said anything to them. I am still married to my husband.
“When I left I did not take any of my property. I left them using my things. Why would I hurt her now and yet when I was supposed to and I did not? She is just a husband snatcher who expected me to react badly,” she said.
Ayisha alleged that Elizabeth threatened her with death following an argument over their husband.
“She has threatened to kill me and I am afraid that she will do it. She is of a violent disposition and I want to be protected from her.
“She insults me like I am a dog. Most of the time she calls me a prostitute and it hurts me a lot. She has not yet come to terms with the fact that we share the same man.
“She is an aggressive woman who is bitter that her husband lied to her about me. May the court protect me from her because I am now afraid of staying with her in the same house,” she said.
Presiding magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza granted Ayisha the protection order she sought.

SEVEN-time Olympic medallist Kirsty Coventry will carry Zimbabwe’s flag into the Rio Olympics opening ceremony at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.
Kirsty Coventry (centre) led her delegation during the opening ceremony of the London Olympic Games on July 27, 2012 at the Olympic Stadium in the British capital
Media reports at the weekend had suggested that that honour would be bestowed on sprinter Gabriel Mvumvure, but the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (Zoc) yesterday announced it is the swimming sensation who will play the sentimental role in her Olympic swansong.
Zoc also announced long distance runner Tatenda Tsumba would be the team’s tree bearer at the Games, which will run from August 5-21.

The 32-year-old will kickstart her campaign by taking part in the heats of the 100m backstroke next Sunday at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium in Rio.
Coventry, who shares the record of seven individual medals with Hungarian swimmer Krisztina Egerszegi, could become the first female swimmer to win eight individual medals.
While her biggest shot at a record eighth Olympic medal in Rio lies in her signature event — the 200m backstroke — Coventry will also compete in the 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley.

Peter Moyo looking after 20 kids… Paying $2000 a term in school fees
October 26, 2015
Most probably, the crystal ball of the psychic who can connect with the yonder world would show a Tongai “Dhewa” Moyo who is smiling and sad at the same time.
Smiling because his son, Peter Moyo, whom he left behind on October 15, 2011 when he departed to the other world is gradually becoming a respectable musician.
But the sight of the sungura genre as it stands at the moment would surely make him sad.
Tongai aka Igwe significantly contributed to the growth and popularity of the genre by bringing pizzazz and swag to it. However, the fortunes of the genre are on the decline and its proponents appear clueless on how to save it from drowning.
If Dhewa was alive today, he would surely relish the challenge brought forth by Zim dancehall. A chuckle here, a smirk there and an out of this world little infectious statement might be all ‘the founder of strategy’ would have used to keep the shine in sungura.
Who has forgotten the whole country chanting, “Sisiii…Toita basa” or “New- system-new strategy…toleka (easy),”. It is now four years since this man of strong will and great charisma passed on but the void he left has proved difficult to fill.
Even sungura virtuoso Alick Macheso, who many say his game took a tumble at the demise of Dhewa since he was competitor who kept him on his toes, admits that the untimely departure of Murozvi Mukuru was a major blow, not only to his family but the music fraternity as well.
The sungura maestro openly admitted last year during the third edition of the Dhewa commemoration gig held in the capital that sungura was never going to be same for him without Dhewa. For a very long time, the two were viewed as foes.
However, the source of animosity remained a mystery.
![]() |
| Peter Moyo holds the photograph of his late father, Tongayi Moyo |
But fans were the ultimate beneficiaries of the “battle” which guaranteed a steady flow of new and quality material every year. Who has forgotten Macheso’s punch in “Ndezvashe”, which has the line, “Usavhundutsirwe nezizi kuti rine nyanga, hadzisi nyanga inzeve”.
Accordingly, Dhewa promptly responded in “Pinda Panyanga” singing, “Ini ndinoziva wani zizi harina nyanga asi kuti rakagara pamusoro penyanga,” in reference to his supposed takeover of the sungura reins.
In another song on “Muridzi Wenyaya” Dhewa chanted, “…eh-h imbwa yakafa kudhara chasara chete isign post, beware of the dog.”
This was after Macheso’s former chanter, Jonasi Kasamba had introduced his boss in a song as, “The best on top of the rest while others follow.”
And critics argue the death of this kind of competition is the reason why sungura now finds itself in a quagmire.
“We have talented budding musicians but sungura will never be the same without him (Tongai). He helped improve standards and I hope his son will be able to do the same,” said Macheso on the sidelines of the Dhewa commemoration gig last year.
Peter’s endorsement
Oozing with confidence from his recently released album “Mabasa aMwari”, the self-proclaimed ‘sungura messiah’, believes he is now in the groove to take sungura right back to the apex where his late father left it.
His baby steps are beginning to leave lasting imprints. Peter acknowledges that he will never be like Tongai but concedes that he has the stamina to up the stakes in the music industry.
“I will try and emulate the good things that my father used to do but one stubborn fact is that I will never be like him,” he said.
“I’m Tongai’s son but I want to build a brand, my own brand that will be associated with me even after my time. I’m not going to divert from my father’s founding principles but I’m going to modify them to suit my style. By so doing, I will become my own man and this is the only way for me to conquer.”
The return of Shiga-Shiga, Spencer Khumbulani and Willard Loti; the original founding members of Utakataka Express, coupled with a perfected art on stage has helped spur the group’s rating. Promoters are literally scrambling for the group’s signature as attendance figures for their gigs are swelling with each passing day.
Adds Peter: “I already anticipated some of the challenges I have faced and continue facing since my father warned me about them on his death bed. In short, I usually have a response to every predicament that I face.”
The Young Igwe’s success story has seen him getting thumps-up from the City Sports bar proprietors. He has been tasked with an enviable burden of officially opening the traditional home of sungura on November 6.
The venue which now has state-of-the-art equipment and furniture had been closed for renovations.
“It will be a special day hence we decided to look for an artiste that is riding high in the sungura genre and we could not look further than Utakataka Express. Next month will mark the return of the popular sungura venue — City Sports bar — and Peter will be the man to lead the come back,” said the joint proprietor, Lawrence Chinoperekwei.
Grippingly, the joint was one of the last two places that Dhewa made public appearances on stage. lt was at the downtown joint that he officially left Peter under the care of dendera musician Suluman “Sulu” Chimbetu. His very last appearance was at Harare Gardens.
“…God has unforeseeable plans for everyone. Today I’m handing over Peter to Sulu in almost the same way Simon (Chimbetu) left his son (Sulu) to me. I hope he is going to be a good brother and mentor,” said a distraught Dhewa back then.
Remembering Dhewa
The event has become an annual gig that most music followers look forward to every year.
But unlike in the previous years when the gigs were only held in Harare Gardens and in Kwekwe, this time around the commemorations are spread across the country.
Also, there is a change in the artistes participating in the event, a phenomenon that Peter attributes to fans. Nonetheless, there has been complains on the selection of the hosting venues. Some feel a central venue like Harare Gardens, which is also conducive for family outings, should never be substituted. After all, it has attracted thousands of fans in the last three editions of the Dhewa commemorations.
“We had to adopt a new strategy for the commemoration gigs. Therefore we had to bring in new faces to perform while at the same time spreading the gig around the country. Yes, Harare Gardens is a convenient venue for families in the capital but they are some of our fans that cannot access the place and we shall be going to them,” explained Peter.
“This is the concept we will be using henceforth. Venues and performing artistes will be constantly rotated so that all our fans get a chance to be part of the event.”
Gogo Chihera and family issues
While confusion and squabbles among Tongai’s family, friends and band members characterised the immediate days and months after Igwe’s demise, a voice of reason seems to have quickly pacified the warring parties that threatened the future of Utakataka Express.
The Moyo family that relies on the group for sustenance would also have suffered ultimately. Igwe’s mother, Gogo Esther Vhengeya (82) better known as Gogo Chihera revealed to The Sunday Mail Leisure in an interview that since the passing on of his son, life had changed for the better under Peter’s care, not the “expected” bad.
Gogo Chihera who is an asthma patient said the Young Igwe has so far been able to take care of her day-to-day needs, together with that of other family members that were left in his custody by his father.
Tongai had six known children with Peter being the eldest, followed by Nyasha, Tanaka, Nicole, Tongai Junior aka Obert and Natasha. Add to this, Peter also looks after nine children that were left behind by his late uncle John, eight kids from his father’s sister and four grandchildren that are staying with his grandmother.
Furthermore, he is responsible for the welfare of some of the children from his mother’s side where he grew up before moving in with Tongai.
“I have no grumble. Peter has done a lot for me. I think he has matched and surpassed what his father used to do despite having a number of families to look after. I wish for God to bless him so that he gets more resources to carry on with the good work he is doing,” remarks Gogo Chihera.
And reports reveal that the Kwekwe-based musician spends thousands of dollars on school fees every term.
“…I have more than 20 children under my care and my school fees budget for every school term is pegged at around US$2 000, that is excluding other factors like medical bills that I also take care of.
“I sometimes feel strained but I have no choice but to push hard. My only source of income has been music. But I have a plot where I’m undertaking projects that have helped me generate some extra cash, at the same time creating employment for some of my relatives,” said the Young Igwe.
But while Gogo Chihera still maintains her presence in the rural areas, she is now more of an urbanite. There have been plans to have her permanently settle in Kwekwe so that she gets proper and reliable medical care. However, she is sternly rejecting the offer.
“Brilliant (son to Tongai’s sister) and his wife take care of her in the rural area but we want her to come and stay in Kwekwe. The move is proving difficult though. You know how it is nechembere, she comes here for a month or so and the next moment she is telling you rega ndimbono dongorera mombe dzangu.”
Relocating to Harare
Before Tongai’s death, there was rumour that the Midlands virtuoso was in search of a house in the capital with the intention of abandoning the mining town. The same rumours have also begun hovering around the son. But the Young Igwe has this to say:
“I won’t leave Kwekwe. In fact, I have never entertained any thoughts of relocating. Midlands is my province. I will visit any other place on private and official business but at the end of the day, I will return to my roots.” The Sunday Mail
