Manchester United floundered to a goalless draw at home to PSV on Wednesday night, as they were made to wait to secure their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Red Devils dominated possession throughout the contest, and tested Jeroen Zoet regularly, but were unable to find a breakthrough before Louis van Gaal eventually turned to sub Marouane Fellaini to try and open the scoring.
United were noticeably more direct as a result, but when Jesse Lingard fluffed their best chance of the second period, PSV were able to hold on and keep the group alive until Matchday Six, when United will likely need to win away to current group leaders Wolfsburg.
