A Harare municipal cop trainee who was reported to have been bewitched by a traditional healer is still traumatized.Pamela Chipendo refused to narrate what transpired on Tuesday saying that she was not “free.”
“I’ m not free to narrate what happened on the day. By asking me to tell you what happened ;you are actually burdening me”.
“I don’t want to say anything please” said Pamela.
While the general sentiments were that the woman had been bewitched by a Sangoma,sources revealed that she had been assaulted and left for dead.
“That Sangoma story is just a diversion.she was assaulted by a mob following the raid on illegal vendors.
The mob took her inside a nearby building where they went further to assault her before she fell unconscious.
“When they realised that she had lost consciousness,they threw her onto the pavement ,”revealed a source.
“We had first gone to first Street around 10am and the vendors removed their wares”
“But around 3pm some of the vendors who had piled up some stones at the corner of Nelson Mandela and Angwa Street thought of provoking us so they brought back some of their wares.
“They displayed the wares right in front of the municipal police officers so we teamed up to restrain them before one of them threatened us with a catapult.”
“That vendor then took a concrete stone which he aimed straight away at my private parts .”
“We tried to restore order even going as far as arresting one of the vendors but that led to many disturbances as his colleagues kept throwing stones at us.
“Matombo akaraba achinaya kunge mvura asi isu takaramba takavharidzira kuti vasatore musungwa watakange tasunga,” revealed Tonderai a patrolman.
He added that apart from his private parts ,he was also attacked on his legs such that he now has difficulties walking
Meanwhile the Harare city council has revealed that they will continue with their operation to restore order but the vendors are also threatening not to budge.

It is further reported that while allegations were that she had touched the sangoma’s wares ,she had only touched some wooden cooking sticks belonging to one vendor and some of them were taken as exhibits.
Another municipal cop.Tonderai Nemasango,who was also attacked on the day revealed that he was stoned on his ‘privates’.
